Neuropsychological difficulties & pain

A special interest in the emotional side of neurological and physical injury.

A traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, stroke, or other neurological condition changes far more than physical function — it can affect memory, mood, identity, relationships, and independence, often all at once. Chronic pain carries its own emotional weight, whether or not it's linked to a specific neurological event.

I have a particular interest in working with the psychological and emotional impact of these conditions: adjusting to a changed sense of self, grief for the life or ability that came before, frustration and low mood that can accompany a long recovery, and the ordinary daily strain of living with pain or altered function.

This work is often done alongside — not instead of — a person's medical or rehabilitation team, and is paced around what someone can manage given their specific condition.
