Life transitions & chronic stress

Support through major change, and the ongoing weight of chronic stress.

An open door letting warm light into a dark room

Some difficulties aren't about a single event so much as a sustained period of change or pressure: a new job, becoming a parent, a relocation, a divorce, retirement, or an illness — anything that asks you to adjust to a life that looks different from the one you had. Even wanted, positive change can be genuinely destabilising.

Chronic stress works similarly but without a single identifiable turning point — it's the accumulated weight of ongoing pressure at work, at home, or both, that doesn't let up long enough to recover from.

Therapy here is about building a way to carry the adjustment or the load, rather than trying to remove it — since it usually isn't removable. That can include practical coping strategies alongside space to process what the change actually means for you.
